HER: The New Kween is more than a play, it's a movement! Kweens the movement is about rewriting the narrative of black women by writing and navigating our stories with context to the experience. And not letting anyone interpret our stories to fit their narrative or truth.
Purpose
Her: The New Kween is a devised production that explores archetypes, social norms, and stories that impel the journey of Black womanhood. The purpose of the show is to pose the questions and create dialogue about:
What does it mean to be a Black Women in America?
How does society’s affect black woman's identity, specifically in the areas of mental health and sexuality?
How do black women celebrate sisterhood and rites of passage?
